The Competition
Colour can mean inherently different things to different people – from an eruption of bright vibrant shades to deeper tones that emote a darkness or mood.
Faber-Castell have long been purveyors of artistic expression – with 261 years of experience to call on, we’re focused on inspiring Australian artists, both amateurs and professionals alike, to showcase the colours of the world around you.
#Colour4life is about harnessing the power of colour for self-expression and aims to become a forum where participating artists can get inspired by each other and by our ambassador artists.
With five major prizes up for grabs, as well as exposure on our social media platforms and website, the competition is a chance to showcase what colour means for you and win the best tools of the trade available to continue your artistic journey.

- 1. Promotion commences at 12.01am AEST on 01/08/2022 and closes at 11.59pm AEST on 30/09/2022 (“Promotional Period”).
- 2. To enter you need to undertake the following during the Promotional Period:
- Create it - Create an artwork using Faber-Castell products that represents what #Colour4Life means to you, addressing one of the 5 themed categories (outlined in 6b). Faber-Castell will assign the submitted artwork to a category based on judgement;
- Snap it - Take a photo of your completed artwork, ensuring the Faber- Castell products used in the artwork creation are clearly visible; and
- Tag it - Upload that photo to your Instagram account, making sure you tag#Colour4Life, @fabercastellaustralia & your favourite art store, if they have a social media account. You are encouraged to follow @fabercastellaustralia> on Instagram and/or Facebook to stay up to date with the latest#Colour4life news and creative inspiration.
- 3. You can enter as many artworks into the competition as you wish, ensuring each of your entries complies with entry requirements as specified in points 2a-2c above.
- 4. Your Instagram account must be public and not set to private to be eligible. Uploaded files must be submitted in accordance with the relevant social media’s platform requirements.
- 5. Entry is only open to Australian residents. Entrants under 18 years of age must have a parent’s or guardian’s consent to enter, and such parent or guardian must sign such documentation as provided by Faber-Castell to confirm such consent upon request.
- 6. Faber-Castell will award 5 main prizes (a) from a prize pool worth over $4000. One main prize will be awarded within the same category (b). Faber-Castell will assign each artwork to the category deemed most appropriate. Each category winner will be determined by the judges.

36 Polychromos Artists’ Colour Pencils, 36 Albrecht Dürer Artists’ Watercolour Pencils, 36 Pitt Artist Pastel Pencils, 8 Pitt Monochrome Artists’ Pastels (Black Soft Burnt, Black Medium Burnt, Burnt Umber, Roman Sepia, Van Dyck Brown, Bistre, Sanguine Medium, White Medium), 3 Pitt Artists’ Pastel Pencils (Sanguine, Dark Sepia, White Soft), 3 Pitt Natural Charcoal Pencils (Soft, Medium, Hard), 1 PVC-Free Kneadable Art Eraser, 1 Double-Hole Metal Sharpener, 1 watercolour brush & 1 paper wiper
- 1 x Main Prize will be awarded per category:
- Portraits: The main element of the artwork features a person.
- Animals: The main element of the artwork features an animal.
- Nature: The main element of the artwork features flora or landscapes.
- Architecture: The main element of the artwork features a building.
- Freestyle: Submissions that do not fall into any of the above categories.
- 5 x Main Prizes: - Each prize contains 1 x Faber-Castell Art & Graphic Collection Case (RRP $850:)
